The 8th International Conference on Computer Science & Education (ICCSE 2013) will be held from April 26 to 28, 2013, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The conference is organized by National Research Council of Computer Education in Colleges & Universities, China, and hosted by Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), and technically sponsored by the IEEE Sri Lanka Section.
Colombo is the commercial capital and the largest city in Sri Lanka bounded by the Kelani River from north. It is the main trading hub of the country that’s lively both by day and night. It has great 5 star accommodations, restaurants, cafes, pubs and night clubs. Many different ethnic (Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim) and religious (Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Christian) groups live in this city. The main trading area in the city is the busy Fort and Pettah area near the Beira lake. The Colombo port is also located in the city, which is an important terminal in Asia because of its strategic location in the Indian Ocean. There is the Museum, the Independence Square, BMICH, the Vihara Maha Devi park, the Royal Colombo Golf Club, the Galle Face Esplanade, the Dehiwela Zoo, ancient Buddhist temples like Gangaramaya and other religious places. The city is currently going through changes to make it even more attractive as a garden city. High rise walls and old dilapidated buildings are being taken down giving way to attractive and modern architectural sights like the Lotus Pond theatre. In fact there is something for everyone to see and do in the lively city of Colombo. All in all the City of Colombo is a very interesting and lively place to visit.
